What is Melatonin?
Melatonin is a hormone found naturally in the body. Melatonin Powder used as medicine is usually made synthetically in a laboratory. It is most commonly available in pill form, but Melatonin is also available in forms that can be placed in the cheek or under the tongue. This allows the Melatonin to be absorbed directly into the body.
Melatonin Tablets is also taken by mouth for the inability to fall asleep (insomnia); delayed sleep phase syndrome (DSPS); rapid eye movement sleep behavior disorder (RBD); insomnia associated with attention deficit-hyperactivity disorder (ADHD); insomnia associated with traumatic brain injury (TBI); and sleep problems in children with developmental disorders including autism, cerebral palsy, and intellectual disabilities. Melatonin Tablets is also taken by mouth as a sleep aid after discontinuing the use of benzodiazepine drugs and to reduce the side effects of stopping smoking.
Sources of Melatonin
A hormone that lightens the pigmentation of skin. This hormone is synthesized in the pineal gland with tryptophan as the substrate. Its chemical names are n-acetyl and 5-methoxytryptamine.
Melatonin is the earliest substance with biological activity found in the pineal gland. When exposed to light, secretion stops. The rhythm of melatonin secretion can be measured in urine as light changes. Other factors such as sleep, diet, mental state and stress also play a role. Injection of melatonin into the hypothalamus can inhibit the secretion of gonadotropin, but it has also been observed that melatonin can directly act on the pituitary gland. Therefore, melatonin can inhibit gonadotropin secretion through the hypothalamus and/or pituitary gland. In addition, melatonin receptors have also been found in ovaries, indicating that this is also the action site of melatonin.

1. Delaying senility:
Free radicals may be produced in enzymatic and non-enzymatic reactions in the body, and free radicals are closely related to aging. The generation of free radical inside normal organism and eliminate are in dynamic balance, once this kind of balance is broken, free radical can cause the damage of biological macromolecules such as fat, protein, nucleic acid, bring about the destruction of cell structure and the consenescence of organism.Melatonin protects cell structure, prevents DNA damage, and reduces the content of peroxides in the body by scavenging free radicals, inhibiting oxidation and lipid peroxidation.Studies by some scholars have found that melatonin has a protective effect of up to 99% on DNA damage caused by safrole (a carcinogen that damages DNA by releasing free radicals), and it shows a dose-response relationship.Melatonin has obvious antagonistic effect on tissue damage caused by peroxidation and free radical produced by exogenous toxicants (such as paraquat).Melatonin can also reduce the content of LPO in the brain, and its effects on different areas of the brain, such as cerebral cortex, cerebellum, hippocampus, hypothalamus, striatum, etc., are basically the same, and show a dose-dependent relationship. However, the sensitivity of different strains of rats, such as Sprague-Dawlay and Wistar rats, to melatonin was different.
2. Improve sleep
Melatonin can shorten the time of awakening and falling asleep before going to bed, improve the quality of sleep, and significantly reduce the number of awakenings during sleep, shorten the light sleep stage, extend the deep sleep stage, and lower the threshold of awakening in the next morning.Has the strong adjustment time difference function.Mainly used in whitening and moisturizing cosmetics, also often used in hair products. The biological functions of melatonin, especially its health function as a dietary supplement, have been extensively studied at home and abroad, indicating that melatonin has many physiological functions, such as promoting sleep, regulating jet lag, anti-aging, regulating immunity, and anti-tumor.The health care function of melatonin at home and abroad involves regulating endocrine (inhibiting ovulation), protecting encephalitis virus infection, reducing the mortality after infection, AIDS treatment and cardiovascular protection.
1. Applied in Cosmetic Grade, Melatonin has many physiological functions such as anti-aging, regulating immunity, and Mainly used in whitening and moisturizing cosmetics
2. Melatonin powder is applied in Pharmaceutical Grade, Melatonin has many physiological functions such as promoting sleep, regulating time difference, anti-cancer and so on.
