The chemical composition of Thyme Extract
1. Essential oils
The study of volatile oils has always been the research focus of scholars at home and abroad. The extraction method used is mainly distillation, and the component analysis method used is mainly gas chromatography-mass spectrometry. These two methods have been used to separate and identify thymol and P -The main volatile component of thyme and other thyme. The chemical constituents of volatile oil of wild thyme in Liupan mountainous area in Ningxia are mainly geraniol, carvacrol and thymol.
2. Flavonoids of Thyme Extract
The compounds contain taxifolin, eriodictyol, genkwanin, apigenin, scutellareinheteroside, luteolin-7-O-glucoside, luteolin-3'-O-glucuronide , eriodictyol-7-OChemicalbook-glucoside and many other flavonoids.
Compounds Triterpenes isolated from thyme mainly include ursolic acid and oleanolic acid.
4. Monoterpene glycosides
Three compounds were isolated from the methanol extract of thyme, and their structures were determined by nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy to be p-cymen-9-yl-β-D-glucopyranoside, 5-β-Dglucopyranosylthymoquinol and 2-β-D-glucopyranosylthymoquinol.
5. Organic acids:
Five phenolic acids (green salicylic acid, protocatechuic acid, syringic acid, coumaric acid, coumaric acid, and coffee tannic acid) and two amino acids have been detected from thyme plants.
7. Thyme Extract contains K, Na, Ca, Mg, Mn, Fe, Zn, Cu and other 8 elements.
