The main components of citrus aurantium extract are bioflavonoids, antibody blood acid (VC), citrin, citrin, naringin, hesperidin, coumarin and so on. Affected by the purification process, it has not been widely used in China. Its main pharmacological effects are as follows:
◆ Anticancer effect:
It has inhibitory effect on breast cancer, uterine cancer, brain cancer, liver cancer, skin cancer, lung cancer, stomach cancer, colon cancer, pancreatic cancer, and prostate cancer cells.
◆ Antibacterial effect:
Citrus aurantium can kill or inhibit common pathogenic bacteria. The solution has a significant inhibitory effect on MRSA, Escherichia coli, Klebsiella ESBL, and Candida albicans.
Note: MRSA and Klebsiella are important bacteria that cause pneumonia, urethritis, and wound infection. Most antibiotics are not effective against them, and they are the bacteria that the hospital focuses on.
◆ Antiviral effect:
It has inhibitory effect on common viruses, and can prevent or treat viral influenza, pharyngitis, and diarrhea. The solution has anti-infective and inactivating effects on Newcastle disease (fowl fever) coxsackie virus (hand, foot and mouth disease) simple herpes virus (children's herpes stomatitis).
◆ Antifungal effect
The antiseptic effect is close to that of potassium sorbate and better than that of sodium benzoate. Can inhibit the production of aflatoxins (causing liver cancer).
◆ Oral disinfection:
Synephrine hydrochloride has an inhibitory effect on the chain ball that causes caries, can clean the mouth, reduce oral odor and bad breath, and inhibit the generation of dental plaque.
◆ Antioxidant eliminates free radical effect:
Free radicals are the main causes of human cell and tissue damage, DNA damage, and carcinogenesis and teratogenesis. Lemon extract has significant antioxidant effects, protecting tissues from the effects of carcinogens such as free radicals and nitrates.
◆ Inflammatory and itching:
Lemon extract can reduce local inflammation in the body. It has analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects on mosquito bites and skin allergies.
◆ Cardiovascular disease prevention and treatment:
These flavonoids can control cardiovascular disease by regulating cholesterol metabolism and preventing atherosclerosis (AS). Lee et al. and Jung et al. Reported that naringenin and hesperidin can reduce hydroxymethyl-glutary-CoA reductase (HMG-CoA reductase) and acyl-CoA-cholesteryl acyltransferase activity to reduce the cholesterol content in plasma and liver, which has the effect of improving hyperlipoidemia and atherosclerosis.
